Strange to recall that I went on a British tour 7 years ago fighting against the Israel hating Jeremy Corbyn. Yet today, I could return to all the venues, use the same script, and talk about Starmer and Lammy.

According to surveys, the Jewish population in Britain has fallen from 337,000 in 2018 down to 292,000 this year according to Jewish Policy Research.

In the same period, the Islamic population of Britain has risen from 3,372,966 in 2018 to an assessed 4.5 million today.

So, if you are a Socialist politician in Britain at local and national level, who are you going to bend your social welfare and international policies to appeal to for votes?

During that period, the UK Jewish Leadership Council demanded that Israel must take the safety of British Jews into consideration before setting our security and defense policies.

I recently reminded Einat Wilf of the 2018 occasion in which JLC’s Mick Davis harangued Wilf at a Knesset Sub Committee event that I attended on this very issue.

And yet, during that period, the UK Board of Deputies for British Jews, voted to admit a group called Yachad into its membership.

Among the many anti-Israel activites that this group did was to hold a Kaddish (a Jewish prayer of mourning) for dead Palestinian terrorists in Parliament Square in London.

Eight Palestinian suicide bombers had attacked my Israeli resort town of Netanya killing dozens of Israelis and injuring hundreds more.

Yet no one from Yachad, nor the Board of Dp[uties of British Jews, nor the Jewish Leadeship Council ever gathered in Parliament Square to say Kaddish for dead Israeli Jews murdered by Palestinians.

Shame on them, and shame on the British Board of Deputies and the Jewish Leaderhip Coucil that failed to show any moral Jewish leadership.

When I visited London in 2018, there was a huge pro-Palestine rally in Trafalgar Square promoted by Corbyn and his Labour Party.

I was invited to join a group of pro-Israel activists who were staging pro-Israel position on The Strand. I was delighted to join their ranks as thousands of pro-Palestinian supporters marched past us.

In our group there were no more than twelve pro-Israel supporters.

So where was the support for Israel then? It was confined to a few Friends of Israel groups doing local activities such as demonstrating against anti-Israel boycotters outside shops selling Israeli products. They rarely, if ever, banded together for larger collective demonstations of support for Israel or indeed their own safety.

Today, British Jews are split between a hardcore who bravely stand with Israel and those that support Israel discreetly, against hardcore Jewish left-wing activists who see Palestinian terrorists as victims and Israel as the cause of their misery. Thid, not the deep indoctrination in Palestinian schools and mosques against Jews, and, in this hatred, they have been joined by Left-wing and radical Islamic activists who have adopted Palestine, even in its most barbaric form, as the centrepiece of their very existance.

Pro-Israel activism demands a more constant public and vocal platform.

It requires the initiatives of new active local and regional groups gathering in support of each other and developing a national network.

There is sufficient material available to counter the lies being spread by national politician and national media channels that pump out anti-Israel messaging.

Heaven knows, this is all I have done daily for over two years. In fact, for over a decade.
